For women: how to lose weight FAST
May 1, 2013
Many people have different goals with their training. Some want to improve their fitness, others want to improve their mobility, but most want to drop body fat, increase lean muscle but generally.... look good naked! (You know it's true!)
Well, if any of those goals appeal to you, the foundation of your physical training should actually be STRENGTH training!!!
So, why Strength training? Shouldn't it be Cardio training?
Strength training will no doubt increase your body's lean muscle mass, and as your lean muscle mass increases so does your resting metabolism, allowing you to burn off more calories all day long. Generally speaking for every lb of lean muscle mass you gain, you will burn off an extra 50 calories daily! All of this, just from Strenght training!
A common misconception is that lifting weights makes women big and bulky.... NOT TRUE!!! Women typically do not gain size from strength training. Women produce around 20 times less hormones required for muscle hypertrophy. However their muscles will appear toned and more defined...(what most women want, right?)
This might be a surprising benefit, but there are more straightforward benefits that you will get from a Strength training program that should not be overlooked:
Builds stronger muscles, but also builds stronger connective tissues and increases joint stability... Simplier put, builds reinforcement for the joints helping to prevent injury.
Improves your functional movement allowing you to sustain physical activity for longer without fatigue!
Using weights in your training can also improve cardiovascular health, and in several ways, including:
lowering bad cholesterol
increasing good cholesterol
lowering blood pressure
A moderate strength training plan can increase your strength by at least 50%, and in a fairly short time period, and did you know that women can actually increase strength at the same rate as men?
Wow. All of these benefits AS WELL AS losing weight, building lean muscle and toning up, and of course, looking good naked! That's what it's all about, right?!
So, feel more confident and capable, try a Strength training program and as a result, get the best beach body this Summer that you've ever had.
